Plant details

Meet this plant.

  • Botanical Name: Anubias heterophylla

  • Common Name(s): Anubias Heterophylla, Congo Anubias, Broad Leaf Anubias

  • Description: Anubias Heterophylla is a striking, larger-growing species known for its elongated, slightly wavy, deep-green leaves and strong upright growth habit. Native to West Africa, this hardy plant develops thick, leathery foliage that adds height and structure to aquariums. Its bold leaf shape makes it ideal for midground to background placement, where it creates a lush, natural focal point. When attached to driftwood or rock, it delivers a dramatic, jungle-style aesthetic while maintaining a clean and refined look.

  • Care: Anubias Heterophylla is a durable, low-maintenance plant suitable for a wide range of freshwater aquariums. It thrives in low to moderate lighting and does not require CO₂ supplementation, though it can benefit from it. As with all Anubias species, the rhizome should remain above the substrate to prevent rot. It prefers temperatures between 72–82°F and adapts well to various water parameters. Due to its slow to moderate growth rate, trimming is minimal, making it an excellent long-term addition to stable aquascapes.

Questions about plant options, delivery, tracking, or an order? Inty is here to help before and after your purchase.

Will my plant look exactly like the photo?

Live plants naturally vary in height, branching, leaf count, color, and shape. Photos show the variety and typical presentation.

Can items arrive separately?

Yes. Plants can have different preparation times and packaging needs, so one order may receive more than one tracking number.

What should I do when it arrives?

Unpack promptly, inspect the plant, water only when needed, and let it acclimate before making major care changes.
