  • Description: Celosia is a genus of plants in the amaranth family that are known for their vibrant flowers and low maintenance. The name comes from the Ancient Greek word kḗleos, which means "burning", referring to the colorful, flame-like flower heads. Celosia plants come in three types: plumed, wheat, and cockscomb, and can produce blooms all season long. Common colors include purple, red, orange, yellow, white, pink, and maroon, while foliage colors include blue/green, purple/burgundy, and chartreuse/gold.
