Saw Palmetto is a Florida native palm with fan-shaped foliage for naturalistic landscapes and wildlife gardens. It develops a spreading clump rather than a tall, single-trunk silhouette.

Growing notes

Choose an outdoor site in USDA zones 8a to 11 with sun to partial sun and room to spread. It commonly grows about 3 to 8 feet tall, sometimes taller, and establishes slowly. Water young plants as needed while roots establish. The leaf stalks have sharp teeth: wear gloves and keep the plant away from busy paths.
